A day following the fatal shooting of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena’s President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi at his Jaipur residence in 2023, his wife issued a threat, stating that protests over his killing might escalate into violence.

Gogamedi, aged 50, was gunned down by assailants identified as Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, who, in turn, were later declared wanted by the Rajasthan Police, with a bounty of Rs 5 lakh for their arrest.

The situation grew tense as protesters resisted collecting the body or allowing postmortem.

However, by Wednesday evening, the administration seemed to be making progress after engaging with community leaders and agreeing to their demands, including involving the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and providing compensation and employment to the kin.
